New Delhi: Google’s Motorola unit has posted a teaser for its upcoming low-cost Moto G smartphone and announced that the handset will be launched on November 13.
The Moto G website shows various images of the globe, suggesting that this handset may be launched internationally as well. Moto X, which was launched in August this year, has only hit the stores in the US.
The Google-owned company has not revealed any other details of Moto G as of now. However, the smartphone’s alleged specifications, image and price have leaked on the internet already.
Moto G is said to have a 4.5-inch edge-to-edge display with 720p resolution and 329ppi pixel density and will be powered by Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Motorola is likely to update the smartphone at least to Android 4.4 (KitKat), as it announced that all models under its new range will be upgraded to next version of the OS at least once.
Its leaked image reveals that Moto G will run on a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor and come with 8GB internal storage and a water-repellent coating. The phone will sport a 5MP rear camera and 1.2MP front unit and will be powered by a 1,950mAh battery.
Other rumours say that this handset will have interchangeable back covers (just like Moto X) and dual-sim functionality. It is expected that Motorola will price the smartphone at 134.95 pounds, without contract. The handset will hit the UK market on November 25, according to a leaked image.
